At Sondervick International School, we understand that there are situations where you may need to request leave. However, we also emphasise the importance of regular school attendance for a successful learning experience. If you need to take leave, please make sure to submit the request on time and adhere to the applicable guidelines below.

If you wish to request regular leave, for example, for a wedding or funeral, your parents should submit a written request to the attendance coordinator using this application form. Ensure that the request is submitted to the attendance coordinator of your building at least three days prior to the planned leave.
Leave for visits to a general practitioner, orthodontist, dentist, or hospital can also be granted. However, we prefer these appointments to be scheduled outside school hours whenever possible. In the case of medical appointments, leave will not be allowed if there is an assessment scheduled in Magister or during exam weeks.
If you have religious duties to fulfil, you are entitled to extra leave. As a guideline, one day per obligation will be granted for such situations. If you wish to avail yourself of this type of leave, your parents should inform the education manager at least three days in advance.
